The Palace of Auburn Hills is a venue situated in the state of Michigan in Auburn Hills. The venue that was opened in 1988 is also referred to as The Palace. The NBA team Detroit Pistons takes the venue as home to its games. And it was also home to several sports teams including Detroit Safari, of the CISL, Detroit Shock that compete at the WNBA, the IHL team Detroit Vipers, as well as the AFL team Detroit Fury.

In addition to the sports games it hosts, Palace of Auburn Hills has hosted several other performances such as concerts of big names. For instance, Sting stopped by the venue in 1988 as part of his Nothing Like the Sun Tour, and that was the first musical performance at the venue. As part of his Bad World Tour, Michael Jackson performed 3 shows in 1988 as well. And as part of their Wish Tour, The Cure performed there in 1992.

The venue witnessed an attempt of assassinating the guitarist Jimmy Page of the band Led Zeppelin. That was in a performance with Robert Plant in their No Quarter Tour On March 31, 1995. The attempt was by a 23 year old called Lance Alworth Cunningham when he thought that the band’s music enclose satanic messages. In 2001, Madonna stopped by the venue as part of her Drowned World Tour.

In 2004, as part of Vote for Change events, different artists performed at the Palace including Jurassic 5, My Morning Jacket, Dave Matthews Band, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals as well as Neil Young. In 2008, as part of their One-X Tour, the Three Days Grace performed at the venue. The performance recorded and later released as Live at the Palace 2008, and it was the band’s first DVD.
